T2T: U.S. Cities

Being a girl craving the city life, I already have an idea of where I want to go.
Still, there are so many choices and it's hard to pick a couple favorites.

San Francisco, CA
Ever since my first visit to this dreamy city on a family vacation, I have been fascinated by it and cannot wait to return. I love the combination of hills, ocean, and sky line, all blanketed with clouds in the morning and graced with pleasant weather all year. And who doesn't love some San Fran clam chowder in a bread bowl? Best meal on the pier. :)

Ocean City, MA
While not a legit city by definition of skyline, I loved Ocean City for the first time I was there. It is very quaint, right on the ocean, and has a great boardwalk. I always envisioned this place as those bubbly tourist bowls during the summer, and then clearing out except for the locals come fall in a "Boys of Summer" lyrical fashion.

TOP TWO TUESDAY -> summer

Yes, I know it is Wednesday, but I just was overwhelmed with free time yesterday and decided to catch up on The Hills before the premiere.
And I just have to say: Kristin Cavalleri, get outta here.
The show was so much better when Lauren Conrad was on it.
As for Mrs. Pratt, she looked prettiest when we first met her as Heidi Montag.

Anyways, on to my top 2 favorite things about summer!

1. TRAVEL
I love getting on a plane and getting out of Indiana for a while.
Or in car, or on a boat...heck, I'll take a train!
I always have at least a few places I go each summer, near and far.
This year, I'll be heading to Salt Lake City (once again), Gatlinburg, Bloomington (not very far, I know), and possibly a weekend in Virginia.
Oh, and a couple day trips to Chicago and Cincinnati.
Bring on the sunshine and good times!

2. SOFTBALL
I play so much softball in the summer and love it.
I'm in such withdrawal since I've been and school and can't wait to get back on the field.
It's pretty much how I spend my Sunday, Monday, and Friday nights in the summers.
And there's always other little tournaments and added nights. :)

TOP TWO TUESDAY -> Magazines

I am a magazine junkie, so this week's topic is right up my alley! As a journalism graphics major, I am a nerd about picking up any publication and examining its design and all around focus, but I am also a devoted reader of many magazines out there. But for now, here's my top 2 favorites, and just for fun, a favorite from my younger years.

1. Glamour. To me, it's Cosmo but with less sex. I think this magazine focuses more on everything about being a healthier, more beautiful, and more knowledgeable woman inside and out. I respect most of the women that grace the magazine's cover each month and enjoy finding out about the down-to-earth appeal of many of them.

2. Teen Vogue. This magazine became a favorite of mine after its redesign. It's smaller size suits it and the design is playful and appealing. As for the content, I'm definitely beginning to grow out of its target audience, but I still admire the focus. It does place emphasis on fashion and beauty, and I like how they venture outside of comfort zones and challenge young women to make fashion their own. Outside of the fashion world though, this magazine tackles important, relevant issues. (And they also will occasional look outside Hollywood's brightest spotlight and feature lesser-known stars on their covers.)

Flashback favorite: Girl's Life. I was obsessed with this magazine as a pre-teen. I can't even remember much about it, but I do remember that I excitedly awaited its appearance in my mailbox each month. I would then proceed to read it cover-to-cover that same day.

TOP TWO TUESDAY -> Random Facts

TOP 2 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME

1. As outgoing as I may be, I am also extremely reserved. Unless you are one of my really close friends, I just always seem like I am having the greatest day. I suppress whatever is bringing me down because I don't want to upset the day for other people. It may not be the best thing to do, but I'm just really good at hiding those negative vibes and replacing them with a smile.

2. I enjoy driving around without destination or agenda. The best time is in the spring when the breeze is nice and the sun bright. I'll have the windows down and the music up. It's just an amazing escape. If only gas prices were not a factor...

TOP TWO TUESDAY -> T.V. Shows

Grab My Button

So, like I said, I think I'll adopt some of the quirky topics my sister and her friend have picked up over the blogging community. That said, enter: Top Two Tuesday. This week's subject is favorite television shows.

Now, I used to watch so much television. I would fill up my dad's D.V.R. and make him really mad when I didn't clear it off quickly. Now that I'm in college, however, I have almost zero time for T.V., especially live. However, I don't plan on abandoning my favorite shows. Thank God for Hulu...

1. Lost
Call me crazy, but to watch this show and not be obsessed just doesn't work out. You have to be way into to deal with the never-ending questions and crazy, surreal plot. However, I've stuck it out this long. How could I give up during the show's last season? (And why would I want to?!)

2. Dawson's Creek
This series may have ended forever I go, but I proudly own every season on DVD. The funny thing is, I didn't even watch it when it was originally airing. There was one summer that I caught it on TBS every morning at 9. I was hooked. And while some people may have swooned over Dawson, I was a Pacey fan all the way. (I mean, it's Joshua Jackson. He was adorable even in The Mighty Ducks trilogy.)

Other favorites:
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives
Greek
Dancing With the Stars
Boy Meets World (wow I miss that show!)

I feel as though I'll be hooked until the end on every show and more. Oh, well. What's life without a little Hollywood entertainment?
