So I was checking out my grades earlier today, and I noticed that I'm averaging B's in just about all of them.
Don't get me wrong, B's aren't bad, I just feel like I could be doing better. I used to get A's all the time, but learned that it wasn't always going to happen.
Maybe I'm just being too hard on myself. Besides, I do have 20 hours of internship per week with 19 hours of class. And I've been sick a few times. It's not wonder that all my effort isn't getting put into everything.
I'm just going to try to kick it into high gear for these last five weeks and work (and hope) for the best!

It's so close...
MARCH.
It's right there, so close.
Just 1 more day.
I can taste it.
I'm just so ready to be done with February.
It's been rough, to say the least.
Sickness, stress, chilling weather.
And too many decisions piling up.
I'd rather not think about summer until the end of spring break...
at the earliest.
No complaints about this weekend, though.
I slept with no alarms to wake me up both days.
And while I wasn't productive,
I had no need to be since I have nothing due tomorrow.
Instead, I had an IHOP brunch and shopping trip
with a good friend Saturday,
followed by a spontaneous afternoon with the roommates.
We hit up a couple pet stores.
Holding puppies was involved.
It was great.
And then I went with a rommate to the men's volleyball match,
of course.
We won.
[of course ;) ]
As for today,
it was just lunch, reading, and a nap.
And now I'm at work.
No complaints.
I'm just trying to round out this
less-than-pleasurable month
with some stress-free mentality.
:)

Snow, math, and syllabi
All kinds of randomness here today.
First, I woke up to a world of white,
and too much still coming down from the sky.
SO MUCH SNOW!
I don't like it.
And because of it, the start day
for my internship has been
pushed back until tomorrow.
Anyways, I got to thinking today
about how much I am putting
on myself this semester.
Let's do some math...
There are 168 hours in a week.
I have:
19.5 hours of class
20 hours of internship
12 hours of work at the Daily News
4 hours of AAF meetings
[every week]
So, 168 - 55.5 = 112.5 hours
If I average 6 hours of sleep
a night during the week,
and 10 hours on the weekend,
that is 50 hours.
112.5 - 50 = 62.5 hours
Take out 3 hours a day for meals,
and another 2 hours for
showers, getting ready, etc.,
and that adds up to 35 hours.
62.5 - 35 = 27.5 hours.
That's my homework time.
27.5 / 7 = approx. 4 hours a day.
...hopefully that's enough...
[but probably not]
All I know is have a quite a few
project-based classes
and extensive reading
and/or writing classes.
Plus I didn't factor in travel time
for my internship,
or meetings that pop up...
Bottom line:
This is going to be a tough semester.
On a lighter note,
today was Syllabus Day, part 2.
Got to love the beginning of the semester :)

End of semester realizations
As I am drowning in stress
and looking for small but brief distractions,
I think of a lot of random stuff.
Here is some of the things I've realized...
I can't remember the last time I drank milk.
(Bad, I know.)
I've just been sucking down the caffeine to keep me going.
I can't remember the last time I took my "daily" multivitamin.
(Bad, again.)
It's what is supposed to be aiding my slightly anemic state, yet I can't remember to take it everyday.
I've been wearing the same pair of jeans for about a week now.
And all my good pairs of jeans now have holes on the inside of the legs.
I haven't made my bed in probably 2 months.
I've bought my monthly supply of magazines every month since August, but have maybe read 2 of them since.
I've also realized that this week is going to be the most difficult of the semester.
I'm almost there.

The end is near
So at this point in my life, I have come to accept the fact that I currently fail as a blogger. Between classes and homework, the newspaper and fighting for time to sleep, I just don't have time or the interesting topics to blog about. However, I'm always full of updates after a long hiatus...
I woke up this morning to snow.
Not just a couple flurries,
but SNOW.
And it still hasn't stopped.
I also just got back from Vegas this past weekend.
I'll have some pictures from my unique
Thanksgiving holiday soon!
As for right now, it's
final papers,
final projects,
and
final exams.
I've got a couple websites to design.
And a magazine to create based on Ovid's The Metamorphoses.
Some papers.
Oh, and then there's my final assignment for one of my other journalism classes.
It's about Alexandria, IN.
Random, yes.
I'll post it when it is completed, but here's some pictures to keep you interested:
Should be a good project. ;)
OH.
I have an interview Thursday
about a spring internship at
the Muncie Star Press.
[fingers crossed!]
Just 2 1/2 more weeks...

Midterm madness
If one picture could describe the end of my October,
it would be this...
Midterms. Suck.
But the end is near!
I'm am just 4 essays and two projects away from bliss.
Well, at least a slow down.

The Humpday without sleep...
...just a nap from about 3 am - 6:30 am.
It will be a miracle to make it through today.
I feel as though i have already
put this post to shame...
What's going to get me through this long humpday...

Mind Right Mondays
So staying up until 4 am doing homework,
and thus only getting 5 hours of sleep,
not getting coffee until lunch,
and being tortured by mother nature all day,
I could really use some hope for the rest of the week.

"I'm coming back to the world..."
One small accomplishment today, and...
BAM!
I'm starting to feel like me again. :)
The hour glass of summer is trickling away faster.
And I feel like there just are not enough hours in the day.
But...
(I'm going to be okay.)
I'm in for a crazy couple of weeks,
but I feel the stress starting to fade.
I know what I am capable of now,
and I'm not afraid to face the challenges of a new day.

I'm alive, I promise
I'm just in way over my head right now...
With a to-do list a mile long.
Lots of homework to do, cleaning to do, and benefit planning to do.
And church softball starts on Monday.
So basically I won't get to breathe again until...
August.
Funny, I thought summer was supposed to be less stressful.
Anyways, I am back from vacation,
(which I will post about next with pictures!)
and back to work.
On the happier side of my life...
I designed my FIRST front page last night!
I still have a long way to go,
but this was my first shot at it,
and my editors agree that it was a dang good one :)
Also, while life may be hectic,
good times are ahead.
Saturday
I am heading to Cincinnati with a couple friends
to attend the Bamboozle Roadshow.
15-some bands for about $20,
yes please :)
Sunday
my dad's family is coming over for Father's Day,
which will be nice since we only see them a few times a year.
Tuesday
my family is heading down to Santa Claus, IN
for some Holiday World fun.
It is also my nephew's 6th birthday!
Wednesday
I'm heading back to Muncie to do some page design,
then driving to my grandma's because...
Thursday
my grandma, mom, sister, nephew, and myself
are driving to Chicago
to go to
LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTER.
And yes, I am 19 years old,
and wayyy excited for this!
Should be a good week :)

Stressful summer?
Last time I checked, summer was supposed to be relaxing.
Obviously, this has not been the case, for I haven't posted anything for almost 2 weeks now.
I PROMISE this will change.
I just have to get my life together.
Right now, I am all work, online classes, and still working on getting stuff moved back into my room.
And I am up in Muncie one night a week designing for the newspaper.
But soon, I will be doing all of this, and having free time for things such as taking naps, hanging out with friends, leisure reading, and, oh yeah, blogging.
Patience please. :)

Crunch time
Ok, so it is obvious that I've been really busy lately. So much so that I have not updated in over a week. (Yikes!)
But if you've been to college, you know these last few weeks are basically INSANE. I'm not sure I've ever been this stressed in my life.
I'm going to have to leave my blog design alone for now, but at least I left it on something clean, and not looking like a hot mess. I'll have more time for creativity come summer.
Right now, I'm just focusing on getting everything done. I have a papers due Thursday and Friday, and a final project due on Thursday as well. I'm pretty much either A) not going to sleep this week or B) failing half of my classes. And we all know I'm not the failing type... ;)
Then once this week is over, I'll have the weekend to gear up for another week of the same thing.
At least I know it is coming to an end. And soon.
